Imprisoned behind the Arctic Circle for One Day
It is not possible to fly. The clouds lie lazily on the ground and it drizzles every now and then. I stay in a hotel which is near the airport and I use their fast internet connexion to study all the webpages on weather forecast which I know of. It seems that the lid of cloudiness could go up a little tomorrow and I might be allowed to fly more to the south where there is a nice weather even today.

Around Nordkapp and to the Northernmost European Airport
In the North of Norway there is a stable pressure-height and so the front which was persecuting me the whole flight along the coast at last stayed somewhere underneath. It is however more than a month after the summer solstice and so the sun got a little beyond the horizon for a while at least. But it is light as in the day. There will be yet more light in the night at Nordkapp.

Let`s Flee beyond the Arctic Circle, Rain Follows me
I wake up in the morning into a cloudy grey weather. I hurry to the airport to hand over the flight plan, refuel and quickly towards the north. I start already in quite a dense rain and I have to fly around the adjacent hills by way of the sea. The clouds begin to go up in ten minutes and in other ten minutes I have a cyan blue sky overhead as yesterday.

Flying North between Two Occlusal Fronts
There was a front over Stavanger at night. It got better in the morning and another one appears already in the afternoon. I quickly refuel and start towards the north. The other front looks to be much stronger according to the satellite image and I wouldn`t like to meet it here and fly through the first one on my way north again.

Hoganas Airport - Beautiful Place to Enter Scandinavia
I was at Hoganas airport two years ago with Echo on our trip to Norway and that`s why I already knew what is to be expected here. A beautiful airport with nice accommodation, no landing fees, cheap avgas, the possibility of bike renting and a town with a shop and pubs not even ten minutes off on a bike. They have even upgraded this by a wireless internet connection, free of charge, how else, and considerably fast. We spend a nice evening at a seaport pub with a band playing live.
